Seaside Campground in Wissant
Nestled between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, Wissant Bay offers a breathtaking view. Ranked among the most beautiful sites in France, the vast white-sand beach reveals itself with the ebb and flow of the tides.
A great spot for long walks and building sandcastles, just a stone’s throw from our seaside campground in Pas-de-Calais.

From the campground in Wissant, a small path leads you directly to the beach. After just a few minutes of leisurely walking, you’ll find yourself with your feet in the sand, ready to enjoy the vastness of the Opal Coast.Wissant Beach is a wide, fine-sand beach that is supervised every summer from July 1 to August 31, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., by a lifeguard station located on the seawall. Access is completely free. The campground also offers direct access to an on-site lake, a protected area reserved for walking and fishing (swimming is prohibited in the lake). Restrooms are available at the lifeguard station and in the village center.

Wissant Bay is known worldwide among water sports enthusiasts: wing foil, kitesurfing, and windsurfing.
It is just as popular for its vast stretches of fine sand.
At low tide, the bay becomes a paradise for hikers and families, offering endless open space for a refreshing stroll with views of the English coast, visible on clear days.
Wissant Water Sports Center, a 5-minute walk away, just a stone’s throw from the campground
Located just a few minutes from the campground, the Wissant sailing center is a popular destination for all water sports enthusiasts and outdoor lovers. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sailor, Wissant Bay offers an exceptional playground between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez. You’ll find the sailing center ideally located on the seawall, slightly set back from the lifeguard station.
Learn from the pros: windsurfing, wingfoiling, and kitesurfing

Our seaside campground in Wissant is the perfect starting point for exploring a wild and unspoiled coastline. Each beach has its own unique character!
As you head south from Wissant, explore the fishing villages:
- Tardinghen and Le Châtelet: our favorite spot! Accessible by hiking up to the Châtelet trail, this secluded beach offers a breathtaking view of the bay and Cap Griz Nez. The perfect place to unwind.
- Audresselles: a typical fishing village where the pebble beaches and rocky shores are a delight for seafood lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
- Ambleteuse: famous for its majestic Vauban fort, which seems to float at high tide. A must-see historical destination.
- Wimereux: a charming seaside resort known for its colorful villas and its lively boardwalk.
Heading north: toward the cliffs
As you head toward Cap Blanc-Nez, the landscape becomes spectacular and the light changes as the hours pass:
- Escalles: Located at the foot of the chalk cliffs, it is one of the most impressive beaches in the region.
- Sangatte and Blériot-Plage: vast stretches of fine sand as far as the eye can see, perfect for long family walks and wind sports.
- Calais: End your journey at the Grand Digue de Calais, which has been completely renovated. It’s the perfect spot to watch the comings and goings of the ferries and enjoy the entertainment right by the sea.
