During your stay, let yourself be charmed by the authentic character of our neighboring villages.
Just a few minutes south, Audresselles seems frozen in time. It’s a typical fishing village. We recommend visiting this village to see its “flobarts,” traditional wooden fishing boats. It’s the perfect place to enjoy crab claws and fresh sea bass.
Continue on to Ambleteuse, famous for its fort built at the mouth of the Slack. At sunset, the light makes the fort look absolutely stunning.
Nestled in the heart of the bay, Tardinghen offers one of the most beautiful views in the region. To take it in, head to the rectory’s terrace or near the church. Beer lovers, be sure to stop by the Brasserie des 2 Caps.
At the foot of Cap Blanc-Nez, the villages ofEscalles and Hervelinghen offer a more rural and peaceful atmosphere.
Must-See Attractions
Located in the heart of the Deux-Caps “Grand Site de France,” Wissant is surrounded by exceptional natural landscapes that are designated and protected. Just a 20-minute drive away, Cap Blanc-Nez rises to an altitude of 134 meters with its white Cretaceous chalk cliffs, offering one of the most spectacular panoramas of the Opal Coast. On a clear day, the English coast can be seen on the horizon. At the summit, the Dover Patrol Monument pays tribute to the Franco-British sailors of World War I.
Further south, Cap Gris-Nez —the point in France closest to England—reveals its gray Jurassic cliffs, which are 160 million years old. Its lighthouse guides ships through one of the world’s busiest straits. Between the two capes, the Grand Site spans 7,500 hectares and 23 kilometers of coastline, bringing together eight authentic villages in a preserved natural setting that has held the “Grand Site de France” designation since 2011.
